The Wicomico County Health Department oversees the Maryland Medical Assistance Transportation Program to provide complimentary, non-emergency transportation to qualified Medical Assistance Recipients.
Medical Assistance Transportation is for Wicomico County residents with active Medicaid who have no other means of transportation available to get to their medical appointments. This is a shared ride program – if you qualify for the service, you will be riding with other people. Be aware that all customers will be subject to a screening process to determine eligibility for services. Call (410) 548-5142 with any questions and to see if you qualify.
All service must be requested by 12 noon at least two business days before the ride is needed, but can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance. Emergency transportation services are not covered under this program. If you have an emergency, call 911.
When calling to schedule your ride, you must have the following information available:
Eastern Transport is currently contracted to provide the curb-to-curb service. So that you are ready when the transportation arrives, you must call them before 12:00 p.m. the business day before your scheduled ride to get your estimated pick up time.
If you live in a rural area and you do not confirm, you will not be picked up. Locations include, but are not limited to: Hebron, Mardela Springs, Parsonsburg, Tyaskin, Willards
