WICOMICO COUNTY WELCOMES SPEAKER, AUTHOR, AND ADVOCATE

 STEPHEN HILL

(April 2, 2024) The Wicomico County Health Department welcomes Stephen Hill, founder of Speak Sobriety, a young person in recovery, bestselling author, and recovery coach for an inspiring and motivational community conversation on April 8, 2024 at 6:00pm. Stephen will share an inspiring story of how one can struggle early in life, but can overcome the odds stacked against them.  This message of hope is for people of all ages and comes at a time when overdoses in our community and around the state are on the rise.

Stephen has presented in front of thousands of people for over 700 schools and coalitions across the country. He shares his experiences with addiction to recovery and beyond, motivating people to lead healthy, substance-free lives. Everyone will leave his presentation better educated on mental health and substance use disorder, with practical tools and coping skills to work through challenges, and with a goal-oriented mindset to build a life worth protecting.

This event will be held on April 8, 2024 at 6:00pm at Wor-Wic Community College in Hazel Center, Room 100.  Doors open at 5:30pm for light refreshments sponsored by Wor-Wic Community College. There will be resource tables and narcan training available. Wicomico Goes Purple and Worcester Goes Purple will be handing out door prizes after the event which include fun items like gift cards, Stanley cups, wellness items and t-shirts! You can request more information by contacting the Wicomico County Opioid Coordinator at (443) 977-7994 or emailing [email protected]
