PFIZER VACCINE AVAILABLE FOR AGES 5-11

(November 5, 2021, Salisbury, MD) Earlier last week, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 to 11. The Wicomico County Health Department (WiCHD) will hold its first COVID-19 vaccine clinic for ages 5-11 years old on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, located at 500 Glen Ave in Salisbury. A parent or guardian must be present with the child in order for the vaccine to be given. Additional clinic dates for ages 5-11 will be announced as they are scheduled.

In addition, the WiCHD is working with Wicomico County Public Schools to provide COVID-19 vaccination clinics at local schools (clinic dates to be announced later). Again, parents will be required to be present. Several local pediatricians and pharmacies have also received vaccines for the 5-11 age group. Please call ahead to verify vaccine availability at those locations.

WiCHD will continue to provide regular vaccination clinics at the Civic Center for those 12 years and older as well as booster shots for those who are eligible.

To make an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccine, please visit www.wicomicohealth.org or call 410-341-4600.  For those receiving boosters, please bring your vaccine card with you to the appointment.
