Wicomico County School-Based Wellness Centers (SBWC) are similar to a doctor’s office, located on the school ground of Wicomico Middle School & Wicomico High School.  Our Staff consists of a Certified Register Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Mental Health Provider and Administrative Assistant to provide medical and mental health services.

Medical services provided include:

  • Mental health assessments & consultation
  • Ongoing individual, family & group therapy
  • Referral for medication evaluation & management

Behavioral health services provided include:

  • Mental health assessments & consultation
  • Ongoing individual, family, & group therapy
  • Referral for medication evaluation & management

Advantages to enrolling your child in the School-Based Wellness Center:

  • Children are seen during school, which means that parents/guardians don’t have to leave work unnecessarily
  • Our staff works with the School Nurse, School Staff and Administration to limit the amount of time that your child misses from class
  • Parents/guardians and child’s primary care provider are notified (by letter and/or phone call) of care
  • Families are NOT charged for medical services!  The SBWC will attempt to bill your health insurance for services provided, however you will NOT be financially responsible for the cost of any medical services provided at the SBWC

If you would like your child to be enrolled in the School-Based Wellness Center, please return your completed enrollment packet to your child’s homeroom teacher, 1st period teacher, school office, or School-Based Wellness Center.  Only enrolled students can be provided SBWC services.  Contact the Wellness Center with any question by phone at 410-219-2842 (Wicomico Middle) or 410-677-5146 (Wicomico High).
