The Wicomico County Opioid Intervention Team (OIT) is a collaborative effort that aims to develop a unified strategy to reduce non-fatal and fatal overdoses in our community. Comprised of numerous community partners and stakeholders, the OIT addresses the key areas of prevention, treatment and enforcement as set forth by the Opioid Operational Command Center which was established by Governor Larry Hogan in response to the growing opioid epidemic in the state of Maryland. Each county in Maryland has formed a local Opioid Intervention Team, and in Wicomico County our team is actively engaged and working towards combating the current opioid epidemic here in our community.
