DRUG FREE WICOMICO
Changing communities ONE person at a time...

OUR VISION:
Drug Free Wicomico will utilize effective strategies and activities to promote healthful behaviors, decisions, and environments that will reduce, postpone, or eliminate the problematic use of alcohol, prescription and over the counter drugs and any use of illegal drugs.

OUR MISSION:
The residents of Wicomico County will maintain and improve their health by not abusing alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.  Adults will be positive role models for the children and youth.

Drug Abuse is a community problem.  For that reason, everyone needs to be involved in the effort to reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use among adolescents in Wicomico County.  Community involvement is critical to changing the community environment around drug use.

We want residents to live long healthy lives and feel safe.
Drugs rob our communities of those opportunities.
Get involved in making our community healthy and safe.

If you are concerned about substance use disorders (includes alcohol) and specifically the use of opiods/painkillers, get involved in the community effort.  Contact: Cynthia.Shifler@maryland.gov.

International Overdose Awareness Day is August 31, 2017.  Events are planned at River Walk at 6:30 P.M.

September is National Recovery Month.  Activities will be taking place all month.

If you would like to get involved, please contact Cindy Shifler
at 410-219-7544 (ext. 17544) or cynthia.shifler@maryland.gov
or print a Drug Free Wicomico Membership Form.
